Margaret K. Boyce has been a Equine Canada Certified Coach for 19 years and a EC official- Senior Basic Dressage Judge for 10 years.
After graduating with an Associate Arts Degree in Graphics Communication and Arts in 1979 , she decided to leave her graphics career and focus on her passion - dressage . Margaret was then offered a working student position with her then coach, Dietrich Von Hoffgarten . From there she was went on to become manager of the very historic and prestigious dressage stable, Country Quest in Vancouver, BC for 9 years .
She went on to earned her coaching and judging certificates and won several CADORA Rider and Horse awards, the last being the Silver Advanced/PSG- Inter I Award from CADORA (Canada Dressage Owner and Riders Ass. - equivilant to USDF) . Margaret has also won several Provincial Champion and Reserve Championships and was Advance National Dressage Champion in 1991. . Along with her riding and competition career, Margaret also donated her time to several dressage organizations : Senior Executive of Vancouver/Richmond CADORA; Area Representative and Provincial Director of BC CADORA ; show managed such prestigious shows as the British Columbia Provincial Dressage Championships ; the Canadian National Dressage Championships .
Margaret was the first show manager to ever hold a FEI -CDI/World Cup Qualifer west of Toronto . Also Margaret enjoys judging and was senior judge at The British Columbia Regional Pony Club Dressage Championships and many events and horse trials . She also donated her skills as a graphic artist as well as a dressage judge to the Pacific Riding For the Disable Association .
Highlights in European Education :
1.) Worked for Dietrich Von Hoffgarten - ( Coach of several current Canadian and USA Dressage Team members) - in Vancouver, Canada - working student for several years. 2.) Worked for internationally renowned Dressage Trainer and Coach, Johann Hinnemann in Voerde, Germany . Mr Hinnemann was the Individual Bronze Medalist in the World Dressage Championship in 1986 and has been the coach of the Dutch National Dressage Team. Hinnemann trained many Grand Prix horses to international success and currently coachs several Germany, Dutch , USA and Canadian Dressage Team Members.
3.) Worked for International Dressage Coach/Trainer - Bert Rutten in Hunsel , Netherlands - Coach of the Dutch Olympic Dressage Team in Sydney 2004 Games. After taking time off to move to New York, get married and raise a family, Margaret is now ready to reestablish her riding , teaching and competition career . She is very happy to join the teaching staff at WMEC and will also assist WMEC in organizing clinics, symposiums as well as dressage competitions .
